What is SI Joint Dysfunction?
The Sacro-iliac (SI) joint is between your sacrum (bottom of your spine) and your pelvis. There is one found on each side and the function of it is to help support your spine and muscles by providing stability. The SI joint itself does not have a lot of motion since it provides a stable base for your other joints and muscles to move from. However, improper mechanics and muscle imbalances can sometimes affect this joint and cause it to get irritated. This leads to pain in the joint and can radiate to other areas in the body.
What causes SI Joint Dysfunction?
Long term overuse or strain

Pregnancy
Hip replacement surgery
What are the symptoms of SI Joint Dysfunction?
The most common symptoms of SI joint dysfunction include:

Pain while walking up the stairs or when changing positions
